The best guide to these holding are found on our website at www.argylecourthouse.com under “Genealogical Resources.” Our list of “Published Genealogies” is a tool that has many uses beyond our own institution. This list includes not only books and pamphlets published on specific families, but also itemizes the genealogies found published in most county histories for the entire province. In those cases, the reference even gives the user the page number in the book in question. Our listing of “Unpublished Genealogies” is genealogies that are sometimes unique to our archives. They are for the most part genealogies that have been donated or loaned for copying by the researchers who have compiled the material. Researchers will also find listings on the Home Page for other records of particular interest to genealogists, such as vital statistics, church records, etc. |
